Do you also feel a feeble chill in the evening air? Does that make you restless in this tropical word with weather that is either hot or wet? One enticing option to channel the excitement is to spend a night under the stars in a beautiful open space near Pavana River, a few kilometres from Lonavla.
This experience of being one with nature, stargazing with BBQ by the river has been organised by the group TravelExpeditions. Prabha Vikram, who runs the group with her partner Rahool Samel, says, “We found this beautiful open space and want more people to experience what it is like to be here. As soon as the monsoon ends, the clouds give way to a star-studded sky, which is a beautiful sight to behold from here.”
The group will be accompanied by astronomer Prakash Parkhe from Ismail Yusuf College, who will be bring his telescope and educate participants about the heavenly bodies. The participants will also need to carry very little. “We have unlimited barbeque, campfire and cosy tents with sleeping bags and mattresses to keep you warm through the night. And in the morning, we have arranged activities like swimming and lake rafting for which safety jackets will be provided by us,” Vikram says.
